Brothers in Dance Secures Win at Celtic Media Festival

The Celtic Media Festival has announced Brothers in Dance: Anthony and Kel Matsena as its Best Arts Programme for 2023. The documentary, which was delivered in partnership with BBC Wales has been watched over 175,000 times since its initial broadcast last year.

"Kel and I are so full of joy that this documentary has been recognised with this award at the Celtic Media Festival," said Anthony Matsena, co-Artistic Director of Matsena Productions. "We put so much trust in the BBC to capture our story with authenticity and they reciprocated by giving us huge trust and support during capture. It was delivered beautifully and presented a great way for us to take stock of our families journey from Zimbabwe to Wales and our creative journey from 2008 till now. Thanks to the entire team who brought it to fruition, Celtic Media Festival and also to our family, friends and our faith."

We are delighted that the documentary is going out live tonight on BBC2 Wales at 23:15 and is also now available again on iPlayer for 30 days. Catch it here. If you missed securing a ticket to our sold out performances of ToyFest as part of the Royal Opera House's Next Generation Festival, tickets are still available for the Insight event where ToyFest will be presented and rehearsed live by choreographer Anthony Matsena.
